Terms of service

Draft. To be reviewed by a lawyer before launch.

What TapCon provides

TapCon supplies an NFC card and a payment page that forwards your customer to the payment provider you have chosen. TapCon is not a bank, not a payment institution, and does not hold your money.

Your responsibilities

  • Keep your own merchant accounts with the providers in good standing.
  • Keep your account credentials and provider keys secret.
  • Only accept payments for lawful goods and services.
  • Give your customers a receipt where the law requires one.

Approval and suspension

A new business must be approved before its payment page accepts payments. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or that a provider asks us to stop serving.

Money and commission

Payments go directly to your merchant account. TapCon takes no commission. Your providers charge their own fees under your agreement with them.

The card: price and replacement

The card is paid for once, on delivery. A faulty card is replaced free of charge.

Returning a payment to a customer

TapCon does not return payments. Money goes straight from your customer to your own merchant account, and we never hold it, so we have nothing to send back.

If a customer paid too much or should be refunded, settle it with them directly, or ask your payment provider to return the payment through their own system. A payment your provider returns is shown in your transactions as “Returned to customer” and is not counted in your takings.

Limits of responsibility

We do our best to keep the service running, but we are not responsible for a payment provider being unavailable, nor for a dispute between you and your customer.
